*****UPPER SAC RAFT FLY FISHING TRIP UNTIL JUNE 1ST NOW!! ~ McCLOUD RIVER FISHING GREAT ~ SO IS THE PIT RIVER & LOWER SAC ~ KLAMATH SWINGS INTO SHAPE!! TRINITY FLOWING HIGH at 4K+ ~*****
Now here’s a wonderful picture sent into me by my dear friend Chester Kyle of Mt Shasta. He took it from Mt Eddy in April of this year! It sure is great to be back from Belize, what great adventures I have in store for you! So stay tuned because I will be putting up stories weekly again. The places I’ve been have been so remote, I just had to wait until now to fill you in. jt
This is Shannamar Dewey from Dunsmuir. She and my buddy Chester Kyle took a climb on Mt Shasta the other day to check out the clear views and ski back down the mountain!
Shannamar is such a cutie as she walks with style on the peaks of our mother mountain!
See Shannamar has always had an unforfilled dream to summit Mt Shasta and …….
Her dream is to make it to the top of Mt Shasta and be photographed….
See Shannamar always wanted to summit Mt Shasta in a bikini and feel the breeze at 14,162 feet on her bare skin! I’m impressed!
WAY TO GO SHANNAMAR, YOU’RE MY SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNER!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER!
I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT’S NEXT, A VERY CLASSY LADY ON A VERY CLASSY MOUNTAIN! THANKS FROM ALL OUR US! I’LL NEVER LOOK AT THE MOUNTAIN THE SAME WAY…JACK TROUT
This message has been brought to you by; Billy Goats Tavern, 107 Chestnut Street Mt Shasta. 530-926-0209 Great food, new beers every week on tap!
Billy Goats is a great place to be when visting Mt Shasta. Great atmosphere, food and spirits.
There always seems to be a few cuties around! Thank you Billy Goats!!
Kevin Bell fish on ladies and gentlemen! The flows have been low this year on the Upper Sac
fly fishing raft trip but all the trips have been epic!
This kid was a hot fly fisher! Girls take notice!…
All day long- Kevin hooked trout after trout! By lunchtime he was into double digits with a smile on his face.
Nice form bro!
Then dad got into the action!
The trout fought hard and Bruce was having a ball! The sun was shining and the raft trip was a perfect place to be out fly fishing.
Nice trout Bruce! Look forward to having you back soon! jt
Look at that rod bend!
What a day on the Upper Sac this kid had! Over 20 landed and Kevin’s feeling like a stud!
All was good that day! Of course, anytime I’m on the Upper Sac in my raft life is great!
Stoneflies are hatching now.
Cam-Trout and Chris Welch’s Grape Juice Wine is back! These guys just can’t get enough of the great fishing we have here in the North State.
Scenes like these are why we do it!
Rainy days on the Upper Sac are the best in spring. Cam-Trout hooked three or more in this same spot fly fishing a Parachute Adams on the surface!
Just around the corner my guys had 3 double hook-ups on dry flies! Dry fly fishing is the greatest, don’t you agree…?
The Gray Drakes were out that day so we used a size 12 Parachute Adams and hooked trout on dries for most of the day.
Howard Clowes caught over 8 trout in this one spot on dries!
Nice job Churchill!
Chris it was great to guide you and Howard, see you in the fall!
Davis Clark’s first trout ever folks!
Naomi Ramsden had a great day with her husband Tony out on the Upper Sac.
Right off the bat she hooked a very nice and rare brown trout!
Dog Fancy Ramsden was so well behaved in my raft, she was given 10’s by me. This was the first dog that has come into the raft since Shasta Trout died in August of 2005. It was good to see another dog enjoying herself on Shasta’s raft. All the great adventures I have had with my partner Shasta Trout will never fade, they just live on in my archives.jt
Naomi caught trout all day long and was very experienced indeedy!
Right on! The money shot…
Tony fought fish and enjoyed the views!
Not big but a lot of fun.
Always a reliable spot to catch fish, down by Pollard things starting really heating up!
sweet!
Naomi is in her element out fly fishing in my raft for sure.
such a natural Naomi, I look forward to our next trip together! jt
The Zipper is always a fun ride!
Ben out with his father Darrell, had a great time together out on the Upper Sac!
At first things were a little foggy, but after the fishing picked up it all became clear what we were there for…
Darrell then started hooking trout also!
Yo Adrian! Nice trout…
Soon Darrell was into the strawberries out in my raft!
I love bottoms out rapid!
Ben with a strong trout on is always fun!
Nice one Ben!
Darrell with another one on in the sunshine of California!
Nice fishing with you Darrell. Hope to see you in the fall for some steelhead action!
Ben hooking trout like there’s no tomorrow…
Fish on Baby!
Trout on the Upper Sac in my raft in Spring, does it get any better…?
A lot has changed from April to May 2007. Now is the time to get up here and experience Mt Shasta! Hope to see you soon. Jack Trout 530-926-4540

EMAILS FROM YOU:
Hey bud,
Robert Mills here. My friends and I are coming up to Mt. Shasta August 9th, 10th and 11th and I was wondering if you would like to guide some misguided fellows. Matt says he can’t live without you…and I believe it. Paul (scarecrow) loves you too. Let me know if you can do it on the 10th of August. Also, I was thinking about bring my friend Bruce Turgon ( of Foreigner ) and my 16 year old son, Rob, sometime in July. What would best work for you?
You really should come down to Coloma or Folsom and rock out with the R. Mills Band soon! www.rmillsband.com
Give me a call when you have time.

Jack, I’m still thinking about the trip and just wanted to drop you a note to let you know what an awesome time we had in Belize. Handling a group of ten brothers, sister, spouses, girlfreinds and parents I’m sure was not easy. Your ability to consider all of our interests, vary from the plan, and adapt on the fly was really great. From scuba diving at Glover’s reef to the Mayan cave tour to the incredible (bone, permit, barracuda, etc) fishing… all of it was just outstanding. Great accommodations, great food and drink, and the fantastic guides you put together really made the trip very special. I’m a stickler for planning and I can’t say that I’ve been on trip where I haven’t had to worry about a thing. You really did a tremendous job!!
LETS DO IT AGAIN

Hi Jack, how lucky are you… Belize! A group of our middle school students just returned from there – an annual trip and they always rave about it. I did look at the web site again. That is how I found you initially, although I had remembered seeing your brochures or an ad somewhere when we visited in the area before.
Yes, May 4 will be fine. Duncan’s birthday is May 21, so I’ll need to “pass the hat” before that. It looks like a half day/full day trip might be the thing. I think it will only be just him – the week of July 8th, as I mentioned before. But, I would be interested in finding out about an instruction session… perhaps we can talk when you are back and decide what would be best. And we can do a gift certificate in May. Thanks so much for your quick response and I look forward to seeing your brochure.
Thank you, Lesley
Hello – I am looking for information about a guided one day fishing trip for a birthday present (in May) for my husband. We are coming up to Lake Siskiyou the week of July 8. Can you send me info about types of trips, locations, prices, etc. Reply to this email address or mail to Lesley Gray PO BOX 254, Lagunitas, CA 94938.
Thank you very much, Lesley
I will be passing through and have only Monday. Is there anything available like a half day hike for me to get an idea of the area?
Thank you,
Zach
Dear Jack:
I never cease to marvel at the beauty of your site! It is such an absolute pleasure.
I am so happy to know you, and to have experienced the Sac and the Trinity and Chile with you and Mike, and the rest.
We will go somewhere again soon. I think Belize. Its fishing and everything else (food, scuba, snorkel, people, beauty, isolation, peace) may be the best times I have ever had! That was twenty years ago. I doubt if it has changed at all.
Meanwhile, have a look at www.sinker-dropper.com. Not fly-fishing, admittedly my favorite, but maybe a way to pay for a few trips with you.
All the best. You deserve it.
Bill Vanderweken
Bravo Jack from the Mom as well. This Belize trip was without a doubt the best and more important trip of Richard’s and my life and we have had some wonderful trips. The fact that we were with our children and they were all getting along so well with one another that can be contributed to the fact that they do love one another but also that you took away the element of dissagreement by planning every daily activity including who went with whom. Every day was an adventure for us all.
Thank you so much Jack. You did a great job!
Gratefully, Cindy Gebhart
