One of my favorites at Billy Goats is the fish tacos!
The Upper Sac is so beautiful in spring, my only concern is how low the water has been this year…
Jim Collins, Ladies and Gentlemen!
The edges of the current are the best parts of the river to fish.
I like going through Bottoms Out then fishing it!
Jim Collins has always been hooked on fly fishing.
That’s one happy guy with his cigar!
Got to love it!!!
Some of the rapids we go down are awesome! What a hoot….
This season has been exceptional for dry flies.
Jim Collins thanks again for coming up, it was an epic adventure as always. See you in the fall! jt
Phil and Robert Ostrander have a house in Mt Shasta. Robert’s wife bought Robert a gift certificate to float the Upper Sac as a Christmas present. He thought it would be cool to bring along his brother Phil.
Phil had a wonderful time catching double digits that day!
Robert had a ball and commented on how easy it was to fly fish out of my raft!
Nice fish neighbor!
The infamous double hook-up! We had three that day…
Did you know the railroad trestles (bridges) on the Upper Sac were built in 1901, those
are cool looking stones holding up the ends, but have they ever been upgraded or reinforced….?
The trout are doing better since the last 5 spills by Union Pacific into the Sacramento river. U.P. Engineers still throw their water bottles out of the train’s windows into the forest and their metal and waste can be found throughout my course down the river, especially along the banks…Clean up your crap U.P.! We’ve been over this before…jt
Phil with another hook-up! What a great day!
Look at the spots on that hottie!
Stylin Trout for sure.
Dry fly fishing got really hot that day.
ROBERT OSTRANDER, YOU’RE MY SIZZLER OF THE WEEK AWARD WINNER!! CONGRATULATIONS SIZZLER! AS MILLIONS APPLAUD.
Oh Ya!
Wading and accessing spots others find hard to get to is my specialty.
Wild Azalea fills the canyon with a smiling scent of the season.
Nathan Reyes with his first trout!

Patrick, don’t let’m get away!
Nice trout Pat! “Hey Jack…Can I hold my trout”!
Squaw Fish on a dry fly????
Look in the tree at the Mature Bald Eagle with her young just peeking over the nest.
Jim called and said, “Jack I have a fiancee now and I don’t know if she’s a keeper because we haven’t gone fly fishing yet…?
So onto the McCloud they went with my guide Aaron Greener. Tamara looking good right from the start loved her adventure with future hopeful Jim Dickey!
Trout under water said; “Jim’s chances look good to me”!!
Jim had a great day fishing also and you could feel the romance in the air, for the McCloud River is where lovers go to share experiences together!
I think she likes you Jim! In fact, we took a poll and we all think she’s a keeper Jim!

EMAILS FROM YOU:
Hi,
My husband has done fly fishing quit a bit in the past and has not been for a while. I am looking for a location with gear that he may not have available to rent. I don’t think he is looking for a guided tour or instruction. What do you have available for someone who has not been in some time.
Thanks,
Penny Torres- Service Assistant
Jack,
How does Monday June 4th and Tuesday June 5th look for you or your guides? I am thinking of driving up from SF on Sunday evening. Fishing McCloud on Monday, maybe Upper Sac Tuesday and driving home Tuesday evening. Probably just two people.
Feel free to call me, or reply by email.
Thanks,
Steve Webber
Jack,
We’re good to go. Please confirm Sat. 6/30 (full day) and Sun. 7/1 (half day )

Ok- so I have full clearance for a Saturday 6/2 outing. Let me know what you need from me. I will likely be camping at Sims. So hopefully we can meet there in the morning.
How was the weekend? Scott Smith
Hi there. My friend and I are driving up to Dunsmuir from the Sacramento area on Friday night, May 18th. We were interested in maybe hiring a guide for the next day, Saturday May 19th to fish the upper Sac. Do you have any availability for that day, and if so, what are the rates? Thanks in advance.
Ben Korbin
Jack:

Hi Jack,
Thank you very much for the great day we had together, Friday May 11, 2007 on the upper Sac.river. My brother and I
have fished a lot of rivers in California and outside the state, nothing compares to the trip we had with you. What a fun ride down
the upper Sac. hooking sizzling wild trout the whole way!!! You proved we don’t have to leave the area to get a great fishing adventure
right here in the north state. Jack, you have a sovereign touch when it comes to river rafting and fishing the north state rivers. We
look forward to booking more trips with you in the future. Thanks again for an outstanding quality adventure.
Rob Ostrander, Mount Shasta, Ca.
