Burney Falls is a special place, named the 8th wonder of the world by Theodore Roosevelt. This glacial spring fed waterfall flows from Mt Lassen before dropping 129 feet making it in the top 10 highest waterfalls in California. George and Enzo Capone enjoyed their tour and then we were off for the Cassel Cement Plant for more photos.
This is a cool place too!
Enzo leading the Mutt.
Dino was cool!
I call this picture….. LOOK OUT TROUT!! I laughed when I thought of taking tourists to this spot for tours, but if there’s a kid involved it makes great sense. Thanks to all who worked on these great amusements.
After that we ate lunch and headed for Mt Lassen.
The great eruption of 1916. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lassen_Peak

That night he made everyone so happy with his great tunes he wrote and he even performed his new hit single he wrote for the new Sean Penn movie, Into the Wild, called Society. Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam sings the song in the movie, but my bestest friend wrote it!!!

EMAILS FROM YOU:
Hello Jack! As promised, attached please find some of the photos I took
during our fishing trip. Feel free to use them on your website if you so
desire. It’s ok to use the shots of the girls too, but just refer to them
by their first names only (Riley and Carter).
Thank you so much for a GLORIOUS two days of fishing! Our entire family had
a great time. You’re a real miracle worker to have been able to make both
the parents and two little girls, ages 11 and 8, all have a great time. My
girls have “talked fish” constantly since we returned home and can’t wait to
go fishing again. Thank you again for an amazing trip, your patience as a
teacher, and for your never-ending sense of humor! Can’t wait to fish with
you again, Cara Lee and Family

Jack,
I understand you are “the man” when it comes to guiding and fishing. My
name is Richard Emery, I live in Fairfax Virginia, close to Washington, D.C.
Two weeks ago my wife and I decided that before our upcoming conference in
Palm Springs we would take a 3 day fishing trip in Northern California. We
came across the “Clearwater Lodge” on the Pit River. I called and talked
with the manager and pretty much had decided to use their guides and stay at
their lodge. So after several weeks of looking we had decided this was what
we would do. Jack, now the story gets better.
Back in April I had planned a 3 day fishing trip at Country Haven Lodge on
the Miramichi River with two of my buddies. So on the second day we are
sitting having lunch when this young couple arrives for a 3 day stay; they
were on their honeymoon. So they sat down next to me; we started talking; I
asked them where they were from; Aaron says from California; that they had
just gotten married after dating 4 years and were up there to do some
fishing. When he told me where they were from; I told them my upcoming
plans and they said I should call you. I couldn’t believe it; that from
across the country I was sitting next to the person that new everything
about where we wanted to go. Small small world.
So in a nutshell, what would you recommend if we arrived the 22nd of
September, fished the 23, 24, & 25? I would be the only one fly fishing; my
wife would relax and enjoy the views. Aaron was saying, we could fish for
steelhead and trout; let me know what you can do, accommodations, guiding.
Will wait to hear from you.

How ya been? You left me a message on my answering machine a few weeks ago so I thought I’d give you a holler. As a matter of fact, my daughter and I have decided to surprise my son in law Matt with a fly fishing trip for this birthday gift this year. His birthday is Sept 8th, so we’re thinking about putting something together later in September or even October.
My first choice would be a drift boat trip for steelhead on the Trinity. What do you think the best timing would be for that trip? I’m also open for other ideas (lower Sac, Klamath, etc.), but I like the idea of a drift boat trip as he’s never done one.
I could also use some ideas for lodging. My daughter and grandchildren (4 total) would possibly join us if we could find suitable and affordable lodging near whatever area we are fishing. If that gets too expensive Matt and I would probably just come by ourselves.
Shoot some ideas (and costs) at me!
Hope you’re doing well,
Frank Sikes
